Ben’s Soft Pretzels Celebrates National Pretzel Day through Free Pretzel Fundraiser for Intrepid Fallen Heroes

Amish-inspired Pretzel Bakery Giving Away Pretzels in Exchange for Donations on April 26

GOSHEN, Ind. – (April 4, 2017) – To celebrate National Pretzel Day on April 26, Ben’s Soft Pretzels, America’s fastest growing pretzel franchise, will give away free pretzels with a minimum $1 donation to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF). The free pretzel promotion will be available from 1 – 7 p.m. at participating locations.

100 percent of the donations collected for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund on National Pretzel Day will go toward building new Intrepid Spirit Centers for military personnel who have been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. All of the administrative costs of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund are underwritten by the Fund’s Board of Trustees.

Last year on National Pretzel Day, Ben’s Soft Pretzels raised $30,000 for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. In total, Ben’s Soft Pretzels has raised more than $60,000 for the IFHF.

The soft pretzel franchise will also be giving away a year’s worth of free pretzels to one lucky fan via a contest app on its Facebook page. Pretzel fans can enter to win by filling out the entry form found at www.facebook.com/benspretzels and listing the name of their favorite Veteran. A winner will be chosen at random from the entries on May 1.

“We are so proud to support an organization as incredible as the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund on our favorite day of the year. In 2016, we were able to surpass expectations by raising $30,000 for the organization on National Pretzel Day and are hoping to match or exceed that goal this year,” said Scott Jones, CEO and co-founder of Ben’s Soft Pretzels. “The success of the National Pretzel Day promotion is a testament to the generosity of our customers who understand the sacrifice of the men and women of the U.S. military and their families, and are eager to give back.”

With the minimum one dollar donation, visitors will receive a Jumbo Soft Pretzel to celebrate National Pretzel Day and support those who have served their country. Ben’s Soft Pretzels also gave away free pretzels to those who have served in the Armed Forces on Veteran’s Day to show its support for the men and women who fearlessly defend our country.

Nearly nine years ago, a local business man (Brian Krider), a pretzel fanatic (Scott Jones), and an Amish baker (Ben Miller), came together to start a pretzel business. Ben and his wife, 3rd generation Amish bakers, perfected the Amish/Dutch dough recipe that is used to this day in all Ben’s Soft Pretzels. The first Ben's Soft Pretzels bakery opened in Concord Mall in Elkhart, Ind. and has since grown to 83 units in eight states.

Ben’s Soft Pretzels ‘Rolls Out’ New Bakery in Sarasota

Amish-Inspired Soft Pretzel Bakery Brings Fresh, Made On-Site Daily Pretzels to Sarasota Walmart

SARASOTA, Fla. (Mar. 24, 2017) – Ben’s Soft Pretzels, an Amish-inspired soft pretzel bakery offering preservative free pretzels baked fresh on-site daily, recently opened a location in Sarasota. The new bakery opened inside Walmart, located at 8320 Lockwood Ridge Rd. The grand opening celebration will be taking place on March 24 from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. and will offer free jumbo soft pretzels to new customers. Offer limited to one per person.

Passionate about serving the world's best pretzel, the fastest growing pretzel franchise in the U.S. has been bringing its doughy goodness to the public since 2008. The bakery’s proprietary mix is hand rolled with imported German salt and the final result is nearly two times the size of other soft pretzels. In addition to Ben’s signature jumbo pretzel, the bakery also offers pretzel bites called Buggy Bites, Pretzel Stix, all-beef Pretzel Dogs, and Pretzel Pockets with eleven different dipping sauces including cheese, mustard, marinara, and a variety of sweet options.

Ben’s Soft Pretzels of Sarasota is owned and operated by local entrepreneur Chad McCorkel along with his wife Michelle, who also works as a nurse in the area. After working in manufacturing plants for 17 years, Chad wanted to switch career paths and looked to open his own business. The husband and wife duo were introduced to Ben’s Soft Pretzels in Valparaiso, IN, where they used to reside, and were attracted to the values and beliefs installed in the company. Ben’s Soft Pretzels of Sarasota operates as a family business with the couple’s daughter Dovie stepping in as store manager. The McCorkels plan on opening two more Ben’s Soft Pretzels locations in the greater Sarasota area within the year, as well as several mobile units.

“Opening our first Ben’s Soft Pretzels location is extremely exciting for us,” said Chad. “My family and I are confident Sarasota residents will love our high-quality, delicious and value-driven products so we’re giving everyone the opportunity to give us a try during our grand opening.”

Ben’s Soft Pretzels also partners with Intrepid Fallen Heroes, a nonprofit providing support for the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. In 2016, Ben’s Soft Pretzels raised $45,000 for the organization through its popular National Pretzel Day and National Pretzel Month promotions and looks to top that number in 2017.
